Vandergrift’s Casino Theatre gets Westmoreland Cultural Believe in artwork set up

Volunteers set up a wing-themed art set up on the grounds of Vandergrift’s On line casino Theatre on Saturday as aspect of the Wings Across Westmoreland initiative.

Vandergrift was the eighth location included in Westmore­land Cultural Trust’s countywide artwork initiative featuring metallic wings impressed by destinations in several destinations in Westmore­land County.

Vandergrift’s wings were unveiled Saturday evening for the duration of an unveiling ceremony at its new locale outdoors on the patio at the historic Casino Theatre.

The task was paid out for as a result of grants from the Allegheny Basis and the Countrywide Street Heritage corridor of the Pennsylvania Heritage Software, below the Pennsylvania Section of Conservation and Organic Sources.

Vandergrift resident and council candidate Marilee Kessler attended Saturday’s
unveiling.

“These wings are the only types positioned in the northern aspect of Westmoreland County. It’s wonderful to see these good points occurring: lovely artwork celebrating our local community,” Kessler said.

The wings share the patio with outsized glass tile mosaics developed in 2017 by regional artist Daviea Davis.
