The Spider Tattoo Guide You Were Waiting For

You might want to dig deeper than the frightening tropes that spider tattoos are often associated with.

Perhaps you own a spider pet or are fascinated by them.

Spider Color Symbolism

There are over 45,000 species of spiders known. They come in an amazing array of colors.

Many people wonder what the different colors of spiders might mean, besides their biological significance.

These are some meanings of spider colors:

Black spiders include the black widow, black jumping spiders, black mouse spiders, and black tarantulas. Black symbolizes mystery, formality and elegance.

Brown spiders include tarantulas and wolf spiders. Brown, the color of soil and wood, is associated to security, stability, groundedness, and security.

Gray hues are used by the American house spider, gray widow spider, as well as the cellar spider (also known as daddy long legs). Gray is the middle color between black and white. It symbolizes both balance and subtlety. Gray is also the color of fog and mist, which symbolizes calmness and mystery.

White spiders include the female goldenrod crab spider and the white-banded fisherman spider. White is a color that symbolizes simplicity and purity.

Red spiders include red jumping spiders and red widow spiders. Red is a powerful color that represents passion, energy, excitement, action and wealth.

There are many spiders that are orange, including the pumpkin spider, orange-hairy spider, and marbled orb weaver. Orange is a color that represents creativity, joy, wellness, and sensuality.

Yellow spiders include the yellow sac spider and goldenrod crab spider. Yellow is associated with optimism, happiness and honor.

The green lynx spider is one of the most common spiders. Green is associated with renewal, growth and fertility. It is also a symbol of financial security and abundance.

Blue spiders include blue jumping spiders and blue tarantulas. Blue is a symbol of trust, faith, loyalty and wisdom.

Purple spiders include the purple jumping spider and the purple tree Tarantula. Purple is associated with royalty, ambition, wealth, peace and devotion.

Multi-colored spiders include the peacock jumping spider and blue-legged Tarantula. Although some people may not consider the spider to be a beautiful creature, it is a beauty in every way.

The colorful spider reminds us to look beyond the obvious and find the answers we seek.
