Her vision for the program has received her the third Distinguished Alumni award from the Fairview Faculty Foundation.
She graduated in 1982 from Fairview and in 1986 from Allegheny.

“The award was created by the college basis to recognize the perform that our alumni are executing all around the globe,” said Justin Zona, director of curriculum, instruction and evaluation for the Fairview University District.
“Kirsten in good shape the specialized niche of serving all-around the entire world. She fit that arts specialized niche and applied that to go out and serve underserved populations.”
The award will be presented Thursday at an invite-only function at the Kahkwa Club.
Wanting again, her mom, Linda Bremmer, understands how her daughter’s profession was just about as inevitable as it was unique, and that isn’t going to make it any a lot less wonderful.

Elstner, formerly of Fairview and now residing in Maryland, runs VisionWorkshops, a nonprofit that sets up and operates what she calls “photo camps” all about the world. She organizes the camps in spots the place kids are underneath great tension. Bremmer, whose husband and Elstner’s father died in 2017, explained it took her a when to realize what Elstner was executing at these picture camps.
